183-185 Clarence Street

Frenger are proud to be currently supplying both their 'exposed' Compact Active chilled beams and their X-wing Radiant Passive Chilled Beams to 183 - 185 Clarence Street (Substation 164), Sydney. The above image shows 183-185 Clarence Street once completed.

This Built Development Group project involves the redevelopment and restoration of two adjoining heritage listed buildings, including a former electricity sub-station and a disused office/warehouse building. The former substation and disused building in Sydney's CBD will be brought dramatically into the 21st century with a six-storey 'floating' glass-and-steel pod cantilevered on top

FJMT Architects were selected following a design competition in which their scheme employs an innovative solution to support and integrate the new building addition with minimal impact on the pre-existing heritage buildings.

The scheme not only refurbishing the existing heritage site, but also incorporates a sympathetic new tower addition allowing for circa 7,650m2 of commercial office space and approximately 250m2 of retail premises within the new development.

Frenger were selected to supply their 'exposed' Compact™ Active chilled beams and X-wing® Radiant Passive chilled beams to provide energy-efficient solution which complimented both the new building addition as well as the pre-existing heritage buildings.

Frenger's 'exposed' X-wing® Radiant Passive chilled beams (40% Radiant quotient) not only helps to provide effective energy efficient cooling to the commercial floors but also delivers an excellent indoor climate environment which is essential for Employee Wellbeing and Performance.
