Walsgrave MHU, Coventry | 2003/2006 | Atrium heating panel in plasterboard ceiling |
  |
Modern Mental Health Units require a comfortable heating system that integrates with the standard plasterboard soffit whilst retaining a degree of structural integrity appropriate for the environment. Working with the design team, Frenger's standard Atrium radiant heating panel was developed with an integral aluminium frame and lockable access hatch; the frame allows for simple integration with the plasterboard soffit whilst allowing for product expansion during the heating cycle, the access hatch facilitates access to the valves etc. and obviates the need for unsightly plasterboard hatches. This "MHU" solution is now available for use in other Mental Health Units.

Walsgrave Acute, Coventry | 2003/2006 | Atrium heating panel in suspended ceiling |
  |
The re-development of Coventry's Walsgrave hospital was the largest PFI super-hospital of its day. The Atrium radiant heating panel has proved highly successful in healthcare environments; its modular design and ease of installation meant that it was perfect for meeting the significant logistical challenge presented by this large project.
Though a programme of testing at the Company's climate facilities, Frenger was able to demonstrate to the Health Trust that the system will deliver comfortable environments in the most extreme conditions.

Amersham Hospital | 1999/2000 | Atrium heating panel in suspended ceiling |
  |
For this new healthcare facility keeping to the construction programme was critical. The construction manager was looking for a lightweight heating panel that could be manufactured in high volumes and installed easily and quickly.
The Atrium panel was selected because of its proven performance characteristics and it’s 25-year integrity life cycle.

QE Hospital, Woolwich | 2000/2001 | Atrium heating panel in suspended ceiling |
  |
This £95 million, 571 bed acute general hospital, was one of the first major PFI projects in the country. The project utilised an LTHW radiant heating system in order to provide an unobtrusive, low maintenance and effective heating solution that freed up the maximum amount of valuable floor and ceiling space.
The Atrium heating panel was chosen for its extremely high efficiency and ultra lightweight construction. Furthermore, the high integrity construction provided life-cycle expectancy in excess of 25 years. The panel was utilised throughout the hospital in areas such as Wards, Surgeries, A&E Department and MHU.
